The service
BOLCheck extracts fields from Bills of Lading and reports suspected defects. It is a document-checking tool. Results are indicative only and are provided for reference. Not a legal or customs declaration basis. You remain responsible for the document you file.
Acceptable use
- · Only upload documents you are entitled to process.
- · Do not use the service to build a competing dataset by bulk-scraping it.
- · Automated use belongs on the API with a key, within the published rate limits.
Availability and liability
Plans are month-to-month or annual and can be cancelled at any time. The service is provided as-is; liability is limited to the fees paid in the preceding three months.
Pending owner review
Governing law, the legal entity and the final liability wording require the owner's jurisdiction decision and a legal review before launch.
Check a container number
Every container number ends in a check digit computed from its first ten characters. A typo anywhere — owner code, letter, digit — changes that digit, which is how a wrong container number becomes provable instead of arguable.
What gets checked
33 Bill of Lading fields are looked for, and 24 rules run over them. Every finding names the field it applies to, so it can be fixed in the source document.
